Ben Mezrich’s new book, Seven Wonders, tells the story of anthropologist and latter-day Indiana Jones trying to find out the mystery that connects the world’s greatest monuments. Mezrich, who is known for his work in non-fiction, including Accidental Billionaires on the founding of Facebook, which became the basis of the 2010 Aaron Sorkin film The Social Network, now turns his eye to fiction, returning to his roots in that genre. You can read more about the book in this exclusive Riffle Backstory.

From the author’s website: Jack Grady, a field anthropologist and 21st century Indiana Jones, lives for the thrill of adventure and the joy of discovery. When his estranged brother, the introverted mathematician Jeremy Grady, is murdered, Jack is determined to find out what happened. His first clue: his brother was stabbed in the chest with an ancient ivory spear. It reminds him of the weapons of the Amazons, a fierce tribe of female warriors dating all the way back to the beginnings of mythology and history and the subject of Jack’s research for nearly half a decade. Jack embarks on a far-flung journey around the globe – from China to Peru; Egypt to Brazil – as he unravels the mystery that links the Seven Wonders of the World, represented by seven divided segments of a golden snake. With the help of the beautiful and brilliant botanist Sloane Costa and Jack’s intrepid grad students, the team discovers a conspiracy to hide a road map to the Garden of Eden – and the truth behind a mythological ancient culture.

We’re giving away Kate White’s EYES ON YOU! Enter now!

Riffle is giving away Kate White’s EYES ON YOU, courtesy of HarperCollins Publishers. Enter to win this riveting psychological thriller by the New York Times bestselling author.

From the publisher: The book is about a media star who must battle a malevolent enemy disturbingly close to her.

After losing her on-air job two years ago, television host Robin Trainer has fought her way back and now she’s hotter than ever. With her new show climbing in the ratings and her first book a bestseller, she’s being dubbed a media double threat.

But suddenly, things begin to go wrong. Small incidents at first: a nasty note left in her purse; her photo shredded. But the obnoxious quickly becomes threatening when the foundation the makeup artist uses burns Robin’s face. It wasn’t an accident—someone had deliberately doctored with the product.

An adversary with a dark agenda wants to hurt Robin, and the clues point to someone she works with every day. While she frantically tries to put the pieces together and unmask this hidden foe, it becomes terrifyingly clear that the person responsible isn’t going to stop until Robin loses everything that matters to her … including her life.
